SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego Padres announced today they will kick off the team's new Friday night Party at the Park event series this Friday, April 8, with Fiesta Mexicana.

New this season, every Friday home game will feature a themed pregame festival at Park at the Park, including specialty food, drinks, music and other entertainment. Admission is included with a paid ticket to that night's game. Gates open for all Party at the Park events at 4:30 p.m.

Fiesta Mexicana will mark the first Party at the Park of the season, with a lively tribute to San Diego's proximity to Mexico and our region's culture and heritage. Sonoran hot dogs, street tacos and margaritas featuring Camarena Tequila will be on sale at Park at the Park. DJ Vince Delano will provide pregame entertainment, along with Mariachi Real, Mariachi Juvenil and Ballet Folklorico Citalali de Fallbrook.

Barring rain on Friday, fans can wander through the Low Rider Car Showcase starting at 4:30 p.m. on J Street behind Park at the Park, featuring dozens of classic cars and bikes. Two-time All-Star and former Padre Mark Loretta will serve on the showcase's judging panel, which will also include automotive reporters Mark Maynard (The San Diego Union-Tribune) and Dave Stall (KUSI-TV), as well as radio personalities Geena the Latina (Channel 93.3 FM) and Todd Himaka (Magic 92.5 FM). Fans are also invited to submit their votes for their favorite car.

Friday also marks the debut of the Northgate Gonzalez Market Corner, located outside the ballpark at Park Boulevard and Imperial Avenue. Before every Friday home game Northgate Gonzalez Market will hold a pregame party, where the new Padres corporate partner will sell food and drinks. This week, fans can purchase tamales, sodas and bottled water for just $1 each.

All fans in attendance Friday will receive a Padres rally towel. Fiesta Mexicana festivities will continue in the pregame ceremony, with a tribute to Spanish radio broadcaster Eduardo Ortega, who is celebrating his 25th year as La Voz de los Padres. Ortega will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch. Also pregame, the Padres Foundation will present a donation to Casa Familiar's Familias Sanas y Activas project in San Ysidro and Tiffany "Taz" Zavala will perform the National Anthem.

Following Friday's game, fans are invited to stay to enjoy the first of seven spectacular Friday Night Fireworks shows this season, presented by Northgate Gonzalez Market. In celebration of Fiesta Mexicana, the show will be set to Latin Pop music.
