Padres agree to terms with 27 players on 2011 contracts

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego Padres today announced that they have agreed to terms with 27 players on contracts for the 2011 season. Executive Vice President/General Manager Jed Hoyer made the announcement.

Agreeing to terms were right-handers Simon Castro, Samuel Deduno, Ernesto Frieri, Luke Gregerson, Jeremy Hefner, George Kontos, Mat Latos and Evan Scribner, left-handers Wade LeBlanc, Cory Luebke, Aaron Poreda, Clayton Richard and Joe Thatcher, catchers Nick Hundley, Rob Johnson and Luis Martinez, infielders Kyle Blanks, Everth Cabrera, Jarrett Hoffpauir and Jeudy Valdez and outfielders Mike Baxter, Aaron Cunningham, Luis Durango, Cedric Hunter, Cameron Maybin, Eric Patterson and Will Venable.

All players on the Padres 40-man roster are now under contract for the 2011 season.
