Known for: For Padres fans Rich Folkers will forever be known for "throwing up in the bullpen". In case you don't know, throughout the years Padres announcer Jerry Coleman has given us a quite a few malaprops. This one however has to rank as one of his all-time best. While calling a game one day, instead of saying that Folkers was "throwing in the bullpen" Coleman added the word "up" and that changed the whole visual for the fans. Folkers would spend 2 seasons in San Diego pitching mainly out of the bullpen where he went 8-14 in his Padres career, while posting an ERA of 4.51. After being claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers following the 1976 season, Folkers would only pitch one more season before calling it a career.
