An RJ's Fro Public Service Announcement: The SD

So I got this e-mail from the Padres the other day stating "Come out and show your SD pride as the Dodgers come to PETCO Park this week". I'm pretty sure it bothered me a lot more than it bothered everyone else. Here's why: I'm reading between the lines ...... by "SD Pride" they are really saying.......

"We want you guys to wear all the SD stuff we gave you this season! In fact we just gave away some pretty cool SD hats this past weekend so wear those. Also wear all those blue and white SD shirts that we gave you this season. Oh and don't forget to wear the blue and white soccer-style scarf we gave you earlier this season. Dude we are sooooo gonna show the Dodgers that this is SD land and the blue and white is going to take over Petco Park."

That is a Padres hat and a Dodgers hat. From far away, such as from the field to the stands, there's not much of a difference. Also all of the "SD" stuff the Padres have given away this year has also been blue and white. So I guess we are basically saying let's try to make the Dodgers feel welcome in our park by sporting their colors all over the place? I know the front office may not be happy with me for saying this but...

I'm calling for ALL Padres fans, to sport the brown/orange/mustard/yellow/whatever, as long as it's pre-1990, this whole Dodgers series!

That's right! We haven't done well against the Dodgers this year and this could play a HUGE part in it. You don't want a Padres loss on your hands do you? Then wear the throwbacks! You can still sport the "SD" but make sure it's throwback colors! "Throwback Thursday" is tomorrow but why stop there? Make it "Throwback Wednesday" tonight too! The season is on the line.
